Last week, inspired by Shutter Sisters and Darrah, I embarked on my own Week of Life, 9 photos to represent each day for 7 days. Having participated in 365 Days before, I didn’t think it would pose *too* much of a challenge.
Alas, it did. I prefer natural light to using flash any day, but currently the days are at their shortest; combined that with the fact that, although my pictures are all SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera), some of them were taken in Portrait instead of Landscape. Yes, that’s me, the girl who doesn’t read the directions proper.
It was enlightening to find things in my life that I wouldn’t normally photograph, but I did wind up taking too many pictures of my cats (they *do* take up a significant portion of my life and days and love) and, well.. I wasn’t too happy with the results. However, I enjoyed the challenge and learned a lot so I will be definitely be doing more Weeks of Life in the future.
For now, the highlights:
Nachos and salsa anyone? As seen around the corner from Margarita’s.
I was actually going North on 128 and getting onto 28 when I saw this field glowing in the sun. I pulled into a nearby plaza and.. the sun hid behind the clouds.
Christmas tree on City Hall Plaza!
The lights and windows inside the library.
Shiny vintage wonders at OPUS.
You can see my Week of Life in its entirety in two places, first on the Week of Life site. I think everyone should go there and look at the work people are doing. As for me, I’d find it preferable for you to view it on flickr, either as a set or as a slideshow. That is because all the photos are in their proper orientation here, as they are not on WoL. My bad.
